Ian and Judiet

Current Mood: Ecstatic

This is just a quick update to say that things are going quite well at the moment. Judiet and Addison are back home and settling in nicely. I must say that being at home is VERY different from being in the hospital but I dont have any complaints. Judiet is still in some pain, but verything biologically is doing what its supposed to so things are good on that front.

Addison has slight Jaundice which has required 3 blood tests in as many days which is more disturbing for Judiet than Addison and its not over yet, tomorrow there will be another one which will hopefully show that the billirubin levels are dropping and she wont have to have phototheraphy. The only bad thing about tomorrows tests is that they require that she not be breast fed for the next 24 hours, so its going to be bottles until then.

Yep, the time has finally arrived and we are now parents. Our beautiful daughter Addison Caitlyn Barnes was born at 10:35 am on 22 April 2008 and was 3.79kilos large and measured up at 54cm. At the time of this post baby and mom are doing well and things are looking good. Attached is a picture of us although check out this link for more pictures.

When I thought of how a baby’s room gets decorated I thought it would be a simple task of putting in a cot, a changing table and few decorations. Was I mistaken or what. The room has had a complete over hall from Judiets study into what is now a beautiful baby’s room. We had to put up floating shelves, floating boxes, change this, hang this, move this and repack everything - twice. All of which at the time seemed like a massive pain the ass but when it was completed I was, and still am, glad we made the effort. The room looks fit for a princess. Here are a few pictures, more are in the gallery.

Note that the photos look crap because my camera was affirmatively shopped and these where taken on a cellphone camera.

So we had the 30week checkup today and im very glad to report that all is going well. She, as we could have expected, acted like a princess and refused to show herself to us - so no 3D scan again. I suppose its best that we have one surprise when she is born!

Mom is doing well as well apart from being tired and constantly uncomfortable - but all looks set for her big arrival on the 24th of April or a couple weeks around that. So we went to the doc today and we are glad to report that all is well on baby front. He says that she is still a she and that she has got long legs (like her beautiful mother). She is lying the in the correct position and still refused us to have a good look at her face as she kept blocking it with her arms and then completely turning away which meant we couldnt get a 4d scan. I have said Judiet must drink 2 cokes and have 4 chocolates before we go next time, both of them should be on a sugar high and move around a alot, which would then mean that we could get a good change for a 4d scan.
