Dad burping Addison

This is just a quick update to say that things are going quite well at the moment. Judiet and Addison are back home and settling in nicely. I must say that being at home is VERY different from being in the hospital but I dont have any complaints. Judiet is still in some pain, but verything biologically is doing what its supposed to so things are good on that front.

Addison has slight Jaundice which has required 3 blood tests in as many days which is more disturbing for Judiet than Addison and its not over yet, tomorrow there will be another one which will hopefully show that the billirubin levels are dropping and she wont have to have phototheraphy. The only bad thing about tomorrows tests is that they require that she not be breast fed for the next 24 hours, so its going to be bottles until then.

I have uploaded some new galleries of photos:

More details about everything to come soon, as well as some videos which are awesome!

Parking lightsSo we went to fetch Judiets mom at the airport last night and while driving in I asked her how much she thinks would have changed since we where last at the international hall in January and surprisingly things are moving along very quickly. The one thing though that stood out was a new system in the parkade that shows you open parking bays with a green light above them which goes red when you have parked.  The nice thing about this system is that there is no human intervention required - everything works auto magically. Its a VERY nice touch and will make parking 100% easier. Attached is a bad photo taken on my phone. Click on the picture to see a bigger view.

10/10 Acsa - keep it up!

Long time, no surprise.

Wow, lots to write about. Let me start with Judiet having to go into hospital on monday evening for an appendectomy. At about 8:30pm she complained that her stomach was getting worse (she had a bladder infection the week before), so I dragged her to the hospital where they concluded it could be 1 of 3 things. Her appendix, ovarian cysts, or an ectopic pregnancy. After drawing blood, they called a surgeon down to look at her appendix. He poked around and concluded that with about 90% confidence it was her appendix, and 10% that it was an ovarian cyst. Either way they would need to operate on the same area. She went in at about 10:30pm and was out by 11:30pm with everything going well. It was her appendix so it was removed. She spent 3 days in hospital on antibiotics and is now recovering at home. Still another week until she can go back to work.

I got a new laptop. An HP NC8430. Its cool. Intel Core 2 Duo centrino thing. 256Meg graphics card, gig-o-ram etc. Its nice, still getting it all setup but so far so good.

There is lots more, just cant think of it now :\ Ill post more when I think of it.

Weekend update!

Saturday, November 4th, 2006

Its a wee tad late, but here it is none the less (Last weekend - 28 and 29 October):
On saturday we had a party to celebrate Judiets birthday. She decided that she wants a Halloween themed party and we set about making it all eerie and spooky. First on the list was a pumpkin. Having never carved a pumpkin before we set about doing it and it turned out quite well in the end. Decoration was up to Judiet and she decided that she wanted alot of candles, spider webs all over and decorated the table in green and orange. It looked awesome. For starters we served a Pan seared chicken breast served with lettuce, tomato, red pepper and cream cheese. Main meal was a Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, roasted rosemary potatos, oven roasted veggies, asparagus and gravy. Yummy. Desert was a baked chocolate pudding with soft chocolate inside. The timing was a little out, the yorkshire puddings took longer than expected and the chocolate pudding fell in a bit, but otherwise it was okay! Great time by the people that where there (Dave, Jess, Nicole, Graeme, Judiet and I).

Sunday we where VIPS at the Samsung Train Race. This was really cool because it was an old steam train and we went from the old Krugersdorp station to Magalliessig station in the Magalliesburg. The train took long to get there, and wasnt quite as luxury as we had hoped but it was fun none the less. The whole length of the marathon is around 35km’s and alot of the runners finished before the train which was quite impressive! At the end of the race there was a HUGE tent where they served drinks and some lunch. We caught a shuttle back from the end point to the station earlier as we had other things to do, but when we got back to the station we found we where parked in and couldnt leave anyway. Luckily some very very kind people where there who gave us a lift back to our house and we went to fetch the car later once the train had arrived back and we could get the car out.

The weekend was excellent! Photos are in the gallery! Checkit!
